front anti roll bar link damage
Hi all,
Some time ago as part of partial front suspension rebuild I changed the front anti roll bar link. Now, some 3000 km later it is damaged in a very similar way as the one I replaced. (see the pics)

Some more info: Except for the shocks and the anti roll bar bush I changed everything in the front suspension. The reason for that was vibrations of the steering wheel at speeds around 110 km/h. After the partial rebuild the vibrations were still there. Right now I'm in the middle of changing the the front shocks and complete rebuild of the rear suspension. (I hope to get rid of the vibrations)
I wonder if these vibrations caused the damage to the link, or if this damage to the link is something normal for these cars.
many thanks for any help.

How violent is the vibration? I can't imagine anything minor doing that sort of damage to the end link.
Have you checked the wheel balance and roundness as a potential source of the vibration?

well, the vibrations are not that violent, but I guess over time they can do this.
right now I have the tires off the wheels, so I spun then on a balancing machine and the look very very good. May be it was the tires.
SO you say this is not normal, the damage to the link?

I replaced mine at 70k miles only because I was replacing all the other bushings in the front suspension and they didn't have that kind of deformation.
One data point doesn't make a line though, so I won't call it "normal" just yet. Maybe there are some other comments?
