Front brakes question

I have a 2001 XK8 which purchase used and I have question about the front brakes. Could the front brakes have tension springs like the rear brakes?

Not sure about the rear brakes as I haven't replaced them as yet but the front brakes are typical caliper/disc setup (same as most cars with discs).
