front license plates

front license plates

Hello,

I live in Nebraska and I need to put front plates on my 1998 xk8 but there isn't a license plate holder on my car. Does anyone know how to display front plates without drilling holes in my front bumper?

Mine and many others are attached to the two vertical bars supporting the chrome cross bar. Holes were drilled...[:'(]

I took the plates off, filled the holes and go without. I've been doing that on both my cars for 10 years and haven't been stopped (yet).

I also have been going on 2 years w/o front plates on my xk8. I like to think that law enforcement gives owners of these fine cars a little leeway since it is impossible to add a front plate w/o damaging those two bumper covers. You can always play dumb if you ever do get pulled over.

Keep the spare in the boot in case you are ever asked for the front one.

In Ohio, law enforcement officers like to see this omission.

Afterone pulls you over, you receive a stern lecture about all of the important reasons a front plate is required. Then he reaches for his citation book.

So instead ofthe front bumper guards,YOU are the one who winds up getting drilled and screwed.
