Default Front spring-seat "cushion"

I'm replacing my front shocks and mounts. I have one shock/spring out and much of the rubber parts are shot and will be replaced. The one thing I can't seem to find is the "pad/packing/isolator??" that the spring sits on in its seat. It's round, made of white plastic and has locating tabs. I can't find a replacement and none of the parts diagrams show that part. Is it even necessary?

I did find one lowering conversion where the whole of the top mount is solid 1/2 in plate going straight between the sping and the body.

The part I'm looking for is what the bottom of the spring rests on. It came out of my left shock and was in pieces when I separated the spring from the shock.

Looking at SNG Barratt's - looks like it may have been redesigned - as I have the white plastic piece with the tab for the spring to sit against

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's tapered so as to orient the spring at the correct angle. There's been a discussion here about its relevance, though...

If you look at a normal ford of the right era they don't have all this plastic cushioning ..I think its just done to avoid warranty issues in the rare occasion you get a metallic bang ..that's why I am just packing the top to adjust for worn springs etc keep it simple stupid and cheap .

I believe that's the 'packer' that you may or may not have multiples of at the bottom of the spring.

The white piece with the tab is, I *think*, MJA2189AA, 'Packing and locator ' according to JTIS, but shows on Heritage as a 'Jaguar Nut' (??) and is unobtainium, unless it comes in the road spring kit. I can't find any pictures of it.
