Hello Fellow Forum Friends! Two Quick questions please for those that have traveled this "Gravel". I Burned my 8th Cylinder bank valve many months ago and it was determined by my many year Jag mechanic that it would likely be Better(in the long pull),Less Expensive(labor wise)etc. if we considered doing a full engine replacement on it. So, We sourced another 293 HP 4.0 Liter engine for it for $900.00, and I purchased it. It is NOW time to do the TRANSPLANT. I have TWO QUESTIONS: a) What is a reasonable LOW & HIGH cost one should anticipate for this and b) The Starter was recently replaced on the old engine and the alternator is also in fine shape, so should I ask my mechanic to salvage those two parts for me for future use as opposed to just letting him do whatever gets done to the Ailing Engine once removed?
