Default Fuse location for convertibale top?

Can anyone direct me to the fuse location for the converible top control on my 2000 XKR? It quit working and I suspect a blown fuse. But there are too many fusaes and no diagram (that I can find). Help!

Thanks!

Ray

What is taking place that you think you need a fuse? Not avoiding the question just want to help.

Putting the top down yesterday and the little windows went down and then nothing. The dispay on the dash indicates that the top isn't latched, but it seems to be secure. Top (and little windows) won't go up or down now. Of course, the manual tells me to take it to the dealer. $$$

Thanks!

Your windows will not go up until the latch is completely latches at the header. It sounds like either your roof is out of sequence or you have a hyd leak. Do you have evidence of a leak and do you know where your pump is? I have a lot of information on the roof system on my page if you wish to read.

No leak. And I can't get the roof to do anything. I'll take a look at your website. But I would still like to check the fuse, if you know which one it is.

The fuse is located in the trunk and you have relays for the roof. Not knowing the year of your car you can select it at http://www.gusglikas.com/AutoRepairElectrical.htm for the fuse and relay location is in the trunk next to the battery. As for the location of your pump it is in the right rear above the CD. This link might help you to get access http://www.gusglikas.com/AutoRepairJ...esRelValve.htm Now in the shelf of the pump you will find the allen wrench. This wrench is used to manually open and close your header latch. Your windows will not open or close until the system is completely satisfied and a leak or low fluid in the system will prevent this from taking place. http://www.gusglikas.com/AutoRepairH...lOperation.htm Read the last paragraph.

Thanks for all your help, Gus! But after having no luck diagnosing the problem myself, I finally took the car to the Jaguar mechanic today. He found the left side ram was leaking fluid. He's replacing both rams as well as flushing the system and adding the newer hydraulic fluid recommended by Jaguar.

Thanks again,

Ray

You might also read Gus's discussion on the pressure relief system he caused to be developed. Adding that little unit will avoid another $1200 in hydraulic hose repair.

Yes the right hand ram is one of the keys to operating the windows. If it is not locked into the closed position the micro switch is not activated and the windows will not work. Is your roof hose OK? Now would be a good time to look at it now that the back is open and available.
