Default FYI: Stuck in park

Last night I was replacing the lights in the trunk with LED lamps. The lights went out and I suspected that I had blown a fuse. It was late, so I decided to take it up the next day.
Next day, I started the car to reposition it in the garage, and it was stuck in park.
The fuse I blew, Fascia fuse box -driver’s side fuse #7 15 amp, controls interior lights, and oddly enough, the gear shift interlock solenoid.
Just an FYI for anyone that experiences a stuck in park condition to look for an easy solution(blown fuse).

Cheers,

Gary

I ended up removing the shift interlock solenoid on my car to avoid any future mishaps. Sometimes I wonder if I should put it back in.

I don’t know, but having it in and functional may prevent you from engaging the gearbox when doing so could cause damage.
Again, I don’t really have any idea, but I generally go with the supposition that these things are designed to keep us out of trouble rather than to just be a pain in the rear. Well, sometimes I really do wonder....

Cheers,

Gary
