gas additives
2001 jag xk8 will be off the road for the winter....(outside covered) .........any good additives for the gas out there...........(will also start it once a week)....... merry x-mass & happy new year to all JAG members ..........................
Stabil for the gas is good, although I'd done without it in the past. I'm not a fan of starting it once a week, unless you give it a lot of time to come up to temperature (which takes a while at idle)
No additives are required for any vehicle with a sealed fuel tank as found on any modern car.
Do NOT start the engine unless you're taking the car for a good long drive. Doing so causes condensation and acids to collect in the engine and exhaust. Attach a battery tender and let the car enjoy it's rest.

Agree with above posts. You really don't NEED an additive for a couple of months off the road. Condensation is the big worry. Keep tank full. And if you do start it, keep it running until you can touch the rear exhaust tips and they are HOT. Also if your baby is left outside covered, be sure to find a cover that is breathable. Do NOT use a plastic tarp or anything that will not let moisture escape through the covering. Also try to park off the soil and on concrete and if on concrete, that is where you can use your blue tarp. its all about moisture control... and rust. gordo
Agreed with above posts but will note it wouldn't hurt. I use Sta-Bil in every engine I have that sits for more than a month. It doesn't cost much and in small gas engines (lawn mowers, log spliters etc) make a big diff on startup, I use it in the RV when put up as well.
My Jag sits for 6 months every year, I use Sta-Bil, and a battery maintainer (get a good one that shuts off when the battery is fully charged). If you use gas additive make sure you let the car run for 10 min so it propagates through the fuel system. Like the others above I don't recommend starting it weekly.
