Default Generic steering coupler (U-joint) can be used?

HI,
I finally removed the coupler that had a broken pinch bolt at the top. It took me almost 5 days and it was real PIA. I would never do this again.

The U-joint does not look so good... I decided to replace the coupler with something.

My question is.... Jaguar does not sell this coupler alone but it has to be an entire lower column. (Part #: MJE9503AC)
Can a generic steering coupler (U-joint) be used to replace this coupler? Maybe, Ford one? It looks like a generic one (at least to me), not Jaguar specific.
Thanks in advance,
JW

Shaft diameter and length will be the major concern.
Check those and give them out and I will see if any of the Triumph ones I have are something you could use, they look the same, well , so does the BMW racing one for the E10 and E46.

I think you might be able to clean your current coupler up and reuse it as it’s a guaranteed fit.

$700 would be beyond my budget. The ebay item is what I would pursue. My only concern is it looks different (I know they share the same part number).
Does anyone fit the old lower steering column to 2006 XKR/XK8? Thanks for the information.

I would go for used coupler since none of major u-joint suppliers can source the correct size. Thanks anyways.
