Here's the lodging info. I think it's mostly booked up for the rest of the summer, though. You have to book early. We booked our reservations back in January. They have frequent cancellations, though, so if the dates you need aren't available keep checking.

When refilling the transmission oil are you suppose to keep the Jag running or just warm it up and then turn the engine off?

There are several other threads on how to change the transmission fluid. It's not very easy, and you have to be very careful to get the exact right amount of fluid back into the transmission. It's also a special kind of transmission fluid that costs about $50 per liter at the Jag dealer, and the transmission uses 8 liters. Go to the FAQ thread, scroll down to the transmission section and read those threads. Lots of good info there.

Here's the FAQ thread:

I'm kinda like an "anti-reverend" so I don't really count. (I am an ordained minister, though!)

If you want a bit more space for packing in the boot, and you have the "baby" spare, then consider removing the hard cover over the spare tire to add more room for luggage. This helped me out when I went to PEI last summer.

We're going to have plenty of room. I'm making my wife pack light. All she's allowed to take is two mini skirts, a halter top, a thin white t-shirt, and some sandals. I'm not even letting her take (or wear) underwear.

On a serious note, I do have the compact spare, and two carry-on size bags fit perfectly on top of it. We're each trying to limit ourselves to a single carry-on. We're going to do laundry once or twice on the trip, so it shouldn't be a problem. It's summer time, so we're not taking any bulky clothes. Down around the spare tire I've stuffed a couple of bottles of oil, a funnel, and some paper towels, just in case I have to top up the oil. I also have a leatherman down there, and a flashlight. I bought a compact tool kit at Pep Boys which has all of the basic stuff in it. That's going in the trunk. I'm still looking for one of those kits with the emergency triangles in it.

^ it IS very clean around the spare, I suppose some car cleaning supplies and emergency provisions and some golf ball sleeves (there I go again) could fit around the spare.

It's immaculate down around my spare. I took it out and cleaned it with 409 and a scrub brush. I even cleaned the spare really well, and Armor Alled the tire. I'd be comfortable eating off of it.

I am an Ordained Minister just so I can perform my brother's wedding. Took me a long 5 minutes on the internet to become a Reverend!

Now, back to the spare tire. Not mine, the car's! If you have the temp spare, you can insert the floor cover down about 6 inches over cars with full spares.

Yep, that's the way I have it. Two carry-ons fit perfectly in that space. We're going to have plenty of room. We used to take long trips in the Z3, and they thing had a tiny trunk and no back seat. The Z3's trunk is probably only 1/3 the size of the Jag's.

And I was serious about not letting her pack underwear!
