Default Goodbye to a great '01

The silver 2001 XK8 I've had for three years has been sold to make room for its replacement also shown in the picture. I'd like to thank everybody here who helped me make sense out of my quirky car. A special thanks to Brutal, Gus and Gordo. If it wasn't for your advice and knowledge, I'd have probably dropped a match in the gas tank a couple years ago. As for the new (to me) 2007 XK coupe...WOW! It's amazing. 5700 miles on the odometer a 5 year 60,000 mile warranty.

Wow, superb. The new model definitely makes our cars look old. Enjoy!

Frog,
Perhaps, but the old models still turn heads better than most cars on the road today.

I actually prefer the previous generation XK/XKR series body style to the current one. Its sensuous lines don't look as bulky to me as the current model and evokes E-type heritage. In the year that I have had my red 2002 XKR, I have had more people stop and tell me how beautiful this car is than any other automobile I have ever owned, including my restored 1972 De Tomaso Pantera and 1978 Datsun 280Z, both of which get a lot of stares and compliments. But to have a warranty....

Default Great looking car

Congrats on your new car. I just said au revior to my 2001 XJ8 to make way for my 2004 Vanden Plas. I have a little more than 5000 miles, but hey, it's new to me. I can relate to that new car feeling! Wishing you many miles of trouble free motoring.

Both are stunning cars, I have the same '01 Coupe in Platinum with 91k miles. It continues to be an amazing car. I recently upgraded the Cam Chain Tensioners and plan to keep the the XKR for a long time.

Oh, my other Jaguar is an '66 XKE, lined up together the two cars are very similar in length and height.

I envy you with the '07, low milege and warranty. You can't beat that.

Good luck with the new car.

Grats!

However, like the others, I prefer the older body style... actually I prefer the 05-06 because it's a little more sporty looking but still retains a strong XKE resemblance. But the 07's are definitely nice. Just not enough wood inside for my liking.

xenophobe, I'm with you on the wood. What I like best about the '07 right now is the "new car smell" ...and the warranty.

Heh. I still have the new car smell in my 05. I don't have the warranty though
