Default Gotta let her go...

Well, its been short 'n sweet, but a sudden change in personal circumstances has meant that I've had to make that unthinkable decision... I've gotta let her go - just when I'd got everything ship shape and gremlin free too.

Haven't quite got my head round it yet but the wheels are already in motion. Have it booked in for a full service Monday and have just paid a few quid to get a decent on-line valuation - plus I've managed to get my hands on the latest Glass's Car Valuation Booklet. After the service toward the end of next week it'll be advertised.

I guess its not the best time of year to be selling so I may have her for a few more weeks/months, which I won't be complaining about, and I'm not going to let her go for anything less than what I think she's worth.

Unfortunately I can't really see things changing that'll mean I'll be able to keep the Jag, but you never know in life. Maybe, just maybe...

This probably won't be my last post but in case it is, just wanted to say thanks to all who have helped me with my minor issues! Keep up the good work you all do on this forum - its the best Jag Forum going!

Jules,

I'm sorry to hear this.

You've put time, effort and ££'s into getting the XKR right and it must be a very hard choice to have to make.

Someone is going to get a good Coupe. I hope you get a good price in return.

Graham

Sorry for your circumstances and that you have to let her go, but you're always welcome here, Jag or no.

I feel bad for you. Never much fun when you are forced into such a hard decision. Hope things change in the future that allow you to get back to Jag ownership.

It looks like a nice car and is a great color so you should have no problem getting what it's worth. Good Luck to you.

Most of us have been there before, and know how hard it is to let go of that ONE thing that you'd prefer not to sacrifice. Take consolation in that you can always get another one in the future, though it may not be exactly the same.

Jules, really sorry to see you leave the fold.
Hope things will improve for you and you'll be back soon.
As Charlie says Jag or no you're always welcome here.

Thanks for the replies folk.

Unfortunately the situation is a result of the current economic mire the UK is in, with Mrs Redeye's post being cut from her local government dept's restructure. So we need to start planning for this and make our own cuts etc. If she is able to secure something equivalent within the next month or so, and I haven't been able to sell the Jag, you never know!

Jules

I fully understand. The worldwide economic situation is challenging to say the least, and will be for years to come. I'm sure glad that I'm no longer a rat in the never-ending corporate rat race. While I miss some of my colleagues and some of my projects, I do not miss the constant grind to cut costs and do more with less....

I sleep much better now, I get to hike the trails of a gorgeous state park every weekday morning, and my daily focus has shifted to home improvement projects, general upkeep, and keeping the vehicles in top shape....

It took me a few years to adapt, but now that I've done so, I doubt if I could function in the corporate world again....

Best wishes to you and yours, and I hope your financial situation improves quickly for you....
