also do i just need to replace the hose set goin to the latch since thats where the leak is??? Should I replace the other 2 sets that lift the top while I am doing this? What do most people do?

Should I relieve the P by opening the petcock on the oil reservoir?

 

Many discussions on this subject. See the FAQ sticky above which is sorta in alphabetical order for more information than you will ever need. While there understand and install one of the two solutions so that this doesn't happen again.

Most folks only replace the latch hoses.

After reading up on that come back with further questions.

 

yes most just do the latch hoses i see that
most dont seem to replace the latch (I think)
and you can splice or run full new hoses

i see no mention of what temp measures to do
open petcock?? not sure how to release pressure until a fix is done
the top is in the up position
it happened today maybe cause its 102 out? no idea

If you already have the drip, the green shower is not far behind. I think you need to quit using the convertible top altogether until you replace the latch hoses. Then, install Gus's pressure relief valve or the pressure limiting resistor to prevent (or at least delay) future hose failures.

You're lucky you got the slow drip. Most people never have the drip and just get the sudden hose failure.

 

Without an inspection of the area, you cannot be sure if it is a hose or the latch that is dripping.
