Default Grille Opening Splitter Removal

Feel kinda goofy not knowing the correct name for the part I'm having a spot of trouble about. It is the shiny, chromed plastic strip that runs across the front grille opening of the XK8.

I need to remove mine and have qualms about it. It is held on by a single 8mm bolt on each side, and a 'scrivet' in the center. The bolts weren't extra hard to remove, but the 'scrivet' is proving stubborn.

Pryng the scriven out with an interior removal tool seems like the correct approach, but it doesn't want to pop out and I'm fearful of breaking the tab it goes through. Have included a couple of rather poor photos in an attempt to show what I'm about.

Question - has anyone removed the splitter from their XK8, and am I going about it correctly?

Trying to illustrate location of the 'scrivet' holding the splitter in place

When I removed mine to replace it I used a sharpened edge putty knife and sheared the head off and then pushed it thru. Just replace it with new for reinstall.

Thanks, have no idea why it didn't occur to me! Wasn't thinking of saving the scrivet.
