Has anyone attempted to install Adaptive Cruise Control on a standard XK8?
I wonder if it is possible. I really have become used to it on our Mercedes GLC, wish I had it on the Jag. Radar module, steering wheel switch pod, bumper mounted computer/sensor/radar, special throttle body, special brake booster would be needed. I don't know if the CAN bus is already setup for the adaptive cruise control, but that would be nice.

I believe it would be infinitely cheaper, and far less a hassle, to buy a car with the option already installed. I have an 03 XKR with the Adaptive CC System, and have heard horror stories about the price to replace components. I think the Radar assembly alone is North of $5,000.00, and I believe you have to change one or more of the management modules, or have them re-flashed, also = expensive; and I have read that swapping out to the proper module(s) presents with an identity conflict between the MY's of the vehicles. There is also the matter of the middle instrument cluster which houses the Adaptive CC Follow Mode Engagement Icon, and the knee bolster switch to disable the Adaptive Function, and the new CC all in one Switch-pack, that is not compatible with previous generation steering wheel wiring connectors. I think there is more, but since my car already has it, I did not bother to read much further. However, if you do take this on, please post lots of pictures or video.

If it was a factory option available on a 2001 XK8 or XKR then yes it's technically possible to retrofit however it will need a wizard to reprogram the car to make it work. I know a guy who could...
But honestly I think it would be a very expensive exercise and you would be better off buying another car that already has it fitted...
