Finally the car is repaired with a lot of second hand parts and is ready to go for technical inspection.
When adjusting the headlamps we found the left lamp not be able to allign for a european car. The lamp looks to be an english version.
So before we take the lamp out we would like to no know if there is a adjustment on the lamp to make it european or I need to replace the headlamp again?

 

It is for a 2000 model without washer.

 

There's not a simple adjustment. The dipped beam is set by the shape of a plate fitted inside the headlamp assembly:



LHD Conversion plates are often listed on eBay at around £80 a pair. I recall reading it's possible to cut a RHD plate to LHD shape to get the correct dip.

Would it be an option to remove that plate from my damaged (only the adjusters where broken off) headlamp and replace it in the english headlamp?

The RHD/LHD plates have exactly the same fixing holes so that should be the simplest solution.
