Default Headlight rainwater deflector installation tips?

I have a recent,y acquired 2006 coupe and noticed it did not have the headlight water deflectors I see on other cars. I purchased a used pair but cannot seem to fit them to my car? Can anyone tell me how they should fit?

If its the part I think you mean one end just pushes under the end of the wing..under the strip where its bolted down (its like a trough that shoots the water over the lamp right? )

As Pistnbroke describes, do you mean the 'Water Shedder' as shown in this video from 3min 38sec to 4min 47sec ?

They may have been removed to facilitate moisture evaporation.

I did not see which vents he was referencing. My Rt. side light get water accumulation during rains. I removed the top 'oval' cover per someone in this forum and now the moisture clears very quickly.

Having the top out is a bad idea. What you need are the water shoots and the oval lid fitting properly. I keep mine pushed down with a small block of wood about 3/4 thick under the body member that passes over the unit and have silica jell inside the unit ..no problem for 18 months

Large silicone packs, close lid, no moisture after driving in rain forc1.5 hours.

This is how you want it ...closed off ...rain shoots and silicone jell ...photo attached .
If you let water in then the silvered surfaces corrode and you dont pass your roadworth test .
