Default Headliner removal

Anyone know what it takes to remove the dual map lights in order to remove the headliner? Any other tricks to getting the headliner out would be appreciated. BTW DO NOT use Rustoleum vinyl and fabric spay paint. Within a few minutes of spraying a very small amount in the car, the headliner and other pieces of foam from underneath the dash all fell. It turns foam into chalk.

Just pull straight down...it takes a bit of force. You can grab it from the edge near the windshield. You also need to remove the visor and visor clips. Use a jewelers screwdriver to pry off the screw covers for the visor and to open the screw cover for the visor clips.

You also need to remover the A-pillar trim (you proabably will want to recover these also anyway). They just pry off from behind the black weatherstrip.
This tool makes it really easy, but is not required: Panel Clip Pliers

BTW, the foam deteriorates in most cars even without the help of the fabric dye. You can get replacement material at wlsheadliners.com...call them with your car info for an exact match.

Be careful not to pinch wires when putting it all back together. Also, take the opportunity to inspect your top latch hose condition while you have them exposed.
