headrest moving eratically
The driver side headrest is moving up and down a little as I move around in my seat during driving. The headrest adjustment works as expect and all the other seat controls work as well.
Has anyone come across this behavior? My guess is that the switch for the headrest has a short of some sort that gets triggered by me moving in my seat.
Thanks, Mark

thats a new one! But, your theory on why is sound, and I would try the same approach, looks like its time to pull the seat and check the wiring path.
First though, make sure the switchpack is solidly in the seat cushion, and it isn't sensitive to the slightest touch to activate the headrest...if not a problem there, continue the exploratory surgery.

Headrest moving
Markman;
As H20boy suggests, exploration of wiring under the seat and switchpack is where to start.
To add, there are two switches that also contol the headrest - seat back tilt and seat back latch. Seat back tilt will pull the headrest down when the back of the seat is tilted foward and seat back latch will lock the headrest once the seat back is tilted back to its previous position. Possibly a short exists in one of the two switches in which your movement in the seat is shorting the switch and the seat headrest is reacting accordingly.
Just another thought.

Jag13cat: it was the seat back tilt switch. The seat back has a little bit of lateral play and moved the micro switch lever sideways which triggered the erratic up/down movement of the head rest. A little bit of grease where the lever touches the seat back solved it.
I looked into fixing the lateral movement but decided not to fix it as it would require to take apart the seat back completely and possibly using heat and/or compression to squeeze the taps a bit further in. I tried it with a c-clamp with no results. Would be interesting to know whether other people have lateral play in their back rests as well.
