Default Help with decision

Hi lads. Two years since I’ve got my XKR, as a way to bond with my older kid (12 now) who love cars. I don’t...or didn’t.

I had an electric car and the Jag was supposed to be a weekend driver. It wasn’t, after one month it was impossible to me driving the electric anymore. So I sold it and the Jag became my daily driver. You will see the XKR published soon.

Next steps is getting a newer jag. Thinking on a 2014 XJL or XK.

XJL has more room for family (I have a Van anyways) but you know, miami without a convert it’s kinda weird.
XK with the new headlights is such a marvelous driving machine but is out of production, so I don’t know how that can affect its future value.

I need additional variables that you can bring to the decision making scenario that facilitates my job. I don’t know, reliability, confort, quality. I don’t know.

Anyone?

thanks!

We had did you like about the XKR? IOW what are your goals, looks, performance, convertible, luxury (looks like jaguar dumped the fine wood interior relatively recently, younger folks think it looks like old guys car), roominess?

From the XKR I love how it drive, how it breaks (this is not a minor thing, it breaks amazingly), its performance, that its not just sport, but it also has class.

Can't get both lads, just in case you was thinking on suggesting me just that :-)

The X351 XJ is laden with far too much electronics for my taste. My dealer tells me that some of this new technology can financially "total" your car if they fail. The ride and feel to me is also more European than British.

I would keep the XKR and buy an X350 XJR as its companion. The X350s were the last of those with classic Jaguar influences. Also one helluva car with just enough tech that won't drain your wallet when something fails.

Something like this would be awesome. Under $15K with under 50K miles.

Ok lads I have to be completely honest with you. As you know I had an amazing plan of selling my XKR and buying an 2014 XK or an 2015 XJL. The problem was that in theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice they are not. So when the offer for full price arrived I just rejected it. I decided that for the value of my car I better keep it in my garage and instead I'll probably sell my BMW 128i Convertible (Remember that my XKR it's a rebuilt tittle, 1 owner, always serviced in Aston Martin Orlando and that only got replaced the driver's door and painted the door and door frame). The car is incredible good shape, smells good inside, and probably you remember how rust free it is (Look for post "first picture of private parts"). I drive just about 10k miles per year with both cars so both of them are in really good shape. The XKR was also driven about 10k miles per year by previous owner (1st owner) so it only has 120k original miles. Once I sell the BMW I'll ask some questions about which daily driver jaguar would you recommend me. By now, I'm still a happy XKR owner :-)

Cheers mates!

You want a convertible, you want a Jaguar, you might not want it to be electric, but you want the Royal connection, there is only one choice:-

So do I. In any case I'm way too far from having royal blood so, let's think about something more for normal civilians :-)
