Default HELP! Disconnected the battery and key won't open the boot

I had to disconnect the battery and I forgot the key won't turn fully to open up the boot.

I only have one key besides the valet key, which won't turn at all.

When I put in the master key and turn to the right, it stops at the point of where it would actually open, any suggestions? I have tried tapping the top of the boot like suggested

Is this what I need to do? Do I just connect a + and - cable on different sides of jumper cables or do I use another car that is running to do this?

Under the hood, connect the battery (+) to the to the bolt under the rubber cover at the fusebox, and (-) to the chassis, as shown below with a set of jumper cables. Take care not to short the cable. Then open the trunk using the button. DO NOT START THE CAR THIS WAY.

Thanks to Paul Pavlik for this and GGG for the reference above..

That's what you need to do. Always listen to Paul and Graham.
