I am in the process of reassembling my car after replacing all the front coolant hoses, radiator and condenser, alternator, A/C compressor, and belts. It's been a long-running project due to other commitments, so I'm just getting stuff bolted back in. I'm close to adding coolant, but decided to first check the A/C system to see if it holds a vacuum. It does not. I found this piece laying on the floor under about where the peanut connectors are on the right-hand side, under the air box location. It is aluminum, and the 1-1/8" wrench is there for scale. I'm wondering if maybe it was on the new condenser peanut fitting to keep one of the O-rings in place. Does anyone recognize this as something that goes in the system. or what I suspect it is?

I've never seen it before, but admittedly I haven't had to work with the A/C compressor. It looks like it might be a spacer or a gasket for the A/C lines?
