My 2003 4.2L XK8 has some marks scratched on the left Cyl. head at the left front. they are 28/4/06 and under that is ATC. Anyone have any idea of meaning or

what was being noted? Car began journey on Jan. 02 and VIN tag shows Mgr. date 5/02. Titled as 2003 mode;.

 

On 28th April 2006 someone with the initials ATC wanted to uniquely identify the part. Breakers usually indelibly mark parts supplied to validate subsequent claims for failure. Any reason to suspect the head was overhauled or replaced?

Yes, it could be. Do not suspect a Breaker or LKQ part involved. At 125K, I replaced the engine sump gasket. The entire lower end was spotless, no residue. Upper F & R Shocks, Welsh Poly on front, Tran. Fluid and filter, rear dif. change. I've driven the car for 30K miles, drive train and body are great. No records came with car except Carfax with previous 3 owners info. Appears I escaped the Rattle Trap car Scam. Knock on Wood 👌
