Hi, have had my 98 XK8 (55k miles) for a year now, what a great car! However, engine cuts out during hard cornering (intertsate on/off ramps). Stops for about a second then picks up again, electrics stay on, no error messages on dash, has happened three times in last month, intermittent, won't do it every day. All turns are hard right turns, have not found a good left hand turn to try!! Car is a daily driver, runs great otherwise. Have found one similar post here from 2008, but it was a bit too cryptic for me - i gave up turning wrenches 30 years ago before cars had computers and diagnostic codes. Not too worried yet, am i going to get totally stuck somewhere any time soon? Grateful for any help, regards from New Orleans
Amen bro, this is probably a number of early cars that never got throttle bodied/ reflashed. Somebody posted somewhere (I think it was Bleasie on JL) that the service action expires June '09, so the first move anyone should make is to contact their dealer. I do that anytime I acquire another car, in case there is something going on that I haven't heared about yet or the car hasn't been campaigned. And I like getting free stuff, if I have it coming to me.
Thanks Gus,
Maybe you could save everyone some time by posting the Service Action number, and where to look for a completed campaign sticker on their XJ or XK. I don't have it on this computer.

Well the Service action is 514. However, I never had a reason to look it up. Jaguar informed me about it and told me that it did not apply in my case. Sorry I am unable to help in that area.
