I had the hood blanket removed from the inside of my hood to see if I'd hear more interesting sounds from the engine. Nothing dramatic but I like it.

Is there a negative downside to this that warrants putting it back? I live in a four seasons climate but winter comes and goes every other week here in Denver CO.
