How do I disconnect the O2 sensor plug?
#3
It's on some post directly behind/below the throttle body. The connectors are each pinned on a tab of sorts. You may have to lift the connectors off the tab and then disconnect the sensor lead from there. Another situation where it looks worse than it is (at least for an XK8).
Best of luck, keep us posted.

Thanks guys, I actually managed to trace the wire to its plug after a youtube video of a guy doing the same thing in an XJ8. I then disconnected it and installed the new one. I made sure to liberally apply the copper grease Denso included with the new sensor. After putting everything back together and refilling the coolant, I reconnected the battery and started the Jag. I cleared the codes and drove around for a bit.
The CEL is gone for good! Interestingly, the heat shield that covers the O2 sensor was missing in my car. Is that why it failed?
My next job is installing new OSRAM Xenarc Night breaker Unlimited D1S bulbs that should be arriving some time next week.
