How do you remove upper steering wheel shroud?
I have an intermittent connection in the Auto circuit to my headlights. Today I took off the valance pannel and the lower shroud - was able to isolate this to one or two wires exiting the turn signal lever under the shrouds. Wiggling the wire opens and closes the circuit.
Good news, but I'm blocked from viewing the connections any further as this stands now.
Looks like I really have to remove the upper shroud, perhaps even the steering wheel (I hope not) to get to the root of this intermittent connection. I spent about 1/2 hour upside down trying to find out how the upper shroud it connected to the steering wheel assembly.
Given the complexity I better ask - this might save a ton of time. For those who have gotten this thing off, is it just 3 screws? I got the first two towards the back off today. Last one is up by the ignition, that one has many exposed wire connections next to it, I'll disco the battery for sure first, from what you know is that the last key to getting this thing off?
Thanks, your input will save a lot of time. It will be good for future searches too. There doesn't seem to be much written about this yet.
Speaking of searches (for the next guy) - These screws are a combination of Phllips and Square heads. Get a square head screwdriver ready. The phillips don't really get a good bite on the screws.
Thanks,

upper shroud
Sure be glad to photograph and post. I can't imagine that anyone ever had mine off but the first 2 screws acted like they were stripped. ?maybe it was me using a #2phillips head screwdriver. Going to have to get a square head to attack that last screw later today standby.
