Radiator drain plug is bottom right on the rear of the radiator. This is what you're looking for:

Just visible from above. Easier to access from below the car.

Just remove the shield for the oil filter and use a large washer to turn. Like almost all cars the coolant has to run out on the frame and make a mess.

Isn't that the truth---the coolant drain on every car I've worked on is designed to go all over the frame and make a mess. I think that must be in the SAE (society of automotive Engr's.) handbook under cooling systems. "Priorty number 1: "Make sure radiator drain plug is placed to make the biggest mess possible."

Diffidently puts a damper on recycling for a quick repair.

Some questions I have for future reference.

When renewing the coolant should you do anything to rinse/drain out the 'Recovery Bottle'?
When finished should you have any coolant in that bottle? So that if the system uses it, it is not just sucking on air?

Whenever I've had wing liners off, there's been approximately an inch of coolant in the Recovery Bottle. With a total system capacity of just over 9 litres, I've never worried about this small amount.

In normal operation, coolant is drawn back from the Bottle by vacuum as the coolant in the Expansion Tank contracts. If the Bottle happened to be empty and drew air back, you'd then just have to top up the Expansion Tank.

Is there a way to empty the coolant left in the block?

Yes - but the remaining volume in the block is very small compared to overall coolant system capacity.

The only readily accessible point is the cylinder block heater or the blanking plug where a heater hasn't been fitted.
