I was reading thru the manual and it mentions that one can lower the convertible top down by using the key only. Does anyone know about this feature ? Thanks

The Owners Manual has a number of secret things in it. They are secret because no one reads the manual.

Very complicated - put key in door, turn key, hold it there.

qwakwak,

You forgot the most secret part of the procedure, you turn the key ... clockwise, and hold it.

I use it all the time to let the heat out and put the top cover on before getting into the car.

Ok I got my top down with key in door - how do you get the top to close with key in door (manual states you can open OR close)?

turning key clockwise does not close top for me.........

Bob, clockwise first unlocks and disarms the car, drops all windows, then drops the top. Counter-clockwise completely reverses this order.

My key will not turn counterclockwise, maybe only certain MYs?

That's something that I never knew about our Jags. Of course, I have a Coupe, so I guess that I'm allowed.

Your roof won't lower but your windows will.

Also if you have a door open and you press your FOB to arm the alarm, the alarm will beep once and nothing will happen until the open door is closed. Once closed the alarm will arm itself with the usual beeps and flashing lights.

Ever press the headlight button on your FOB 3 times in a row?
