How much play should throttle cable have

Cool How much play should throttle cable have

Should there be any play in the throttle cable, Im wondering if I should /can adjust out the slack, heres a video showing how much play it has

The JTIS procedure to adjust the throttle cable (for the latter year models) shows that there is a special "tool" used during the adjustment that results in providing some slack in the cable. If you do not have this tool (who does?) I think that you can just guesstimate that some slight slack needs to be there. The ultimate check is to have someone slowly floor the pedal while you watch the throttle body butterfly and see that it is opening fully.

cheaperts, Looks like the cable has very little play in it. You need some play or your rpms will go up at idle.
