Talking I found something...

First, no....I didn't have my camera, so no pictures, sorry. I know it's the great forum sin of sins to speak of a car and not have photos.

Yesterday I drove my daughter to British Auto Center in Seattle Washington (U.S.A). She needed a shift cable for her 87 XJ6. The establishement is a Jaguar recycler, AKA wrecking yard, and the garage was so stacked from floor to ceiling with thousands of Jaguar parts. Needless to say, I love this place. Anyway, the mechanic had us wait outside the garage while he got her cable, and while we were standing there, I was amazed over all the parts. There was an XKE on a rack above an XK-120 (XE?), fenders, hoods (bonnets), trunk (boot) lids, headlights, taiights, engins, transmissions, interior parts of all makes and models.

Then I saw it. In the back, hidden behind a forklift, black as the night, in the corner in the relative dark (it was sunny yesterday). I had to squint to be sure I was looking at it. When the mechanic came back, I asked to see the XKS.
He looked at me and goes "You mean the XKR-S? Sure, have a look"

I have found a 1993 XKR-S coupe, number 26 of 50. Black on black, black medalion on the hood. XKR-S doorsills, the word Jaguar does not appear anywhere on the body. I asked if it ran, he said yes, I asked how much. He told me when they are finished working on it, $30,000.00. I asked what was wrong with it, he said "typical electrical" So I asked how much as is. He went in the office, came back and said "As is, $11,000. He fired it up and it growled the deepest growl a jaguar can give. No smoke, no hesitation.

Kitty needs to be uncaged...

Just thought the forum should know.

Talking My bad!!!!

Yes, it's an XJR-S. I drive an XK8 so it's habit to hit the "K", and yes, 1993 (as told by the owner)

There's been a couple for sale in Hemmings over the last couple of years. They've been priced around $25,000.00
Here's a little info on them.
After winning the 1984 European Touring Car Championship at the wheel of an XJ-S, Tom Walkinshaw of TWR was commissioned to give the road-going XJR a performance makeover. In 1988 the factory made an official model incorporating Walkinshaw's enhancements. His company JaguarSport (or TWR), was already producing body and suspension kits for the XJ-S which were available for separate order.
Each car left the TWR factory as individually built cars. Options such as the body kit, quick-shift gearbox, ventilated discs and four-pot brake calipers along with stiffer suspension, lowered ride height, re-calibrated power steering and a momo steering wheel were available.
Both a 5.3 liter and 6.0 liter engine were available in the car. Since the engines look almost identical, its hard to differentiate between the two. In either case a genuine TWR car is hard to come by, as in three years of production a little over 600 cars were manufactured. 50 of these were convertibles that were all exported to the USA.
Specification listed is for the most common 6.0 liter 318 bhp version. This figure went up 20bhp to 338bhp in 1992.
