Exclamation I have cured my "Restricted Performance", but...

I can't get rid of the Check Engine Light. There must be a vacuum leak somewhere. Any suggestions?.

pull codes and post - can't properly diagnose with the only indication being a CEL

A good code scan for starters...

Smoke testing the intake is probably the only accurate way to find vacuum leaks. But the CEL can be illuminated for a ton of different reasons.

Smoke Test.
Buy a plumbers smoke bomb.
Open air cleaner..remove filter put in a bowl to hold the smoke bomb and block off th eair intake with gaffer tape. Plug the cam box vent and ignite.
PS open the throttle.

Talking I have made the appointment.

On April 2nd, The XK8 will be at Consolidated Auto Works in Portland, OR for a valve chain/tensioner replacement. They'll also cure the vacuum leak/CEL problem. After that, the DEQ will be handled and registration, plates and tags. "On the road again"!

I sent my XK8 Coupe to Consolidated Auto Works in Portland, Oregon. They will have the Valve Timing Chains on my car changed and the vacuum leaks corrected very soon. UI'll pick the XK8 up in a fortnight. (On April 16th).

Thanks to all.

Default "Ian" is back in my possession!

Ed at Consolidated Auto Works replaced an MAP sensor,, a worn-out radiator hose and a number of other word/broken parts as well as improper spark plugs. The engine sings a new song of rejuvenation. After I get Ian through DEQ, I'll replace his shock absorbers and, he'll be ready for a road trip.

"Ian" has passed Oregon's Department of Environmental Quality tests with "flying colors". On April 22nd, I'll have four Bilstein shocks installed and be ready to "hit the road" again.

I ADORE THIS JAGUAR!
