Default Incompatability warning, Denso DOX 0428 Lamda sensor, incorrect cable length

For an 02 XK8 the DOX 0428 is supposed to be a direct replacement for the original which is a 192400-3101, Jaguar part No LNE1684BB. However the cables on the DOX 0428 are a good 100mm shorter than the ones they are supposed to replace. They are just long enough for the RH upstream but too short for the LH. This results in not being able to fit the connector to the bracket, you just have to leave it floating which isn't good practice. Positive side, it works!

Default XK8 O2 Senaor

Thank you for this post. Unfortunately I saw it too late and bought a sensor from amazon. Although it fitted it was not compatible and caused the engine to hunt.So I bought a Denso from Jaguar. All fixed.

Hi Graham,
Thank you for the welcome. I own a Jaguar XK8 2004 Convertible. This is an amazing car. The best car I have ever had. The first Jaguar I had was a Mark 5, almost 40 years ago. To say there is a big difference would be an understatement. I imported the XK8 from the UK to Australia about 7 years ago. Its done about 120,000 miles now. I really appreciate the forum as it has helped me carry out various maintenace tasks such as changing roof hydraulics, door latches, suspension bushes, coolant hoses, water pump, thermostat, lights and of course O2 sensors.
Kind regards
Phillip
