Incorrect part fitted?
Hi all,
Still playing with newest acquisition (97.5 convertible) tried the ABS module repair as had all the signs of bad unit (no traction no speedo etc) well somebody had been there before me as the top was glued on on the module, anyway when opened up nothing sprung to get my attention but decided to re flow the main power pins, mine were crafty little buggers as one pin was showing that it was NOT soldered to the main circuit but was only soldered to a thin ring of circuit around itself so I could have made a nasty short if I had not noticed it. Anyway after putting it back together still no speedo/ traction and I noticed that the brake warning symbol on so checked fluid level and all ok tried handbrake off/ on but no difference.
pt wds on it and had a number of codes
C1155 front left sensor
B1342 internal abs module fault
C1267 battery voltage out of range
U2012 ABS can bus error
tried to clear faults but not able to as no option on screen, so tried a hard reset disconnected battery for half an hour with cables joined, reconnected and turned on ignition and now got the Incorrect part fitted message, have not put wds back on it yet will try again tomorrow to see what it says.
So anybody throw some light onto the problem before I try and get a replacement abs module.
Also still have intermittent gearbox overheat message even with a cold engine, I know the problem usually is the internal gearbox harness but what exactly goes wrong with it? is it the plug, the cables themselves or the thermistor any ideas, anybody repaired there's yet
anyway that is enough for now hope I get some replies

PS hope everybody is keeping well

Maybe someone installed the wrong part?
The 1997 (001001 to 018107) uses a module that is a 'ONE-YEAR-ONLY' part with two options.
Traction Control (JLM20130) and EXCEPT TRACTION CONTROL (JLM20129).
You can try to configure the ABS module with WDS to see if it can be made to 'shake-hands' with the CAN bus?

That is what I thought about the wrong part fitted previously, thing is though it only flagged that message up after I did a hard reset prior to that just the no speedo or traction, oh forgot to mention that it also threw a
P1637 this was listed by wds as from engine control module and not an abs module failure.
as for the gearbox might just try and get value for the thermistor and have a go at changing it, worth a try anyway
