Default Problem after changing ABS module XKR 2002

Really stuck now with the nightmare ABS module, tried to repair original, no joy purchased a replacement all the same part numbers, now i have even more problems, still displaying incorrect part fitted, but it even did this when i tried to repair and replace the original unit. now the display is showing on all readings like trip, fuel distance etc the brake light is on, low brake fluid is displaying, the spedo does not work and the auto gearbox is stuck in one gear and wont change up.

I have read that a lot of this can be down to damaged pins on the ABS module but I have checked times several times and all appears Ok.

Any ideas please as I am completely lost now this ABS module appears to be able to cause so many issues

If you unplug the ABS module, do the other warnings disappear?

If you unplugged the connector to the ABS module, you lose one end of CAN network and the necessary network terminator. That will be problematic. Sounds, superficially, like a bad module. On the other hand, what was the problem(s) that led to the fix/replacement of the module?

I had the usual ABS not available message at first intermittent but sometime later constant no ABS, first I replaced sensors on all wheels but this made no difference.

I then tried to repair the solder joints on the original module, but when I refitted this I still had the same problem plus the message on the display saying incorrect part fitted. I therfore assumed that opening the sealed module had not worked and purchased a secondhand module from a trusted jag specialist.

once the new part was fitted I had numerous error additional messages plus no spedo and gearbox not working.

The ABS module needs to be configured to the car!!!!!!!!!!

Try That before condemning the CAN bus.

Still sounds like a module problem. As Bob noted, if the module is not programmed correctly, it will produce errors, but maybe not all of these errors. I'd make sure the trusted Jag specialist vouches for the module/VCATS number and your particular vehicle.

What is the your OBD code reader telling you beyond the messages on the instrument panel and stuff not working? Because now it sounds like you perhaps don't have a network too, which could also be a module problem.

If the car is a 4.0 liter 'TO VIN A30644' then the module should be a 6 pipe (9 valve) JLM21323.

There will be different numbers on the case itself but that is NOT the Jaguar part number.

Even ref are the same, XK8 and XKR modules are differents.
Try to find a module from an XKR only
