Smile Installing One-touch Turn Signal Module

Hi everyone this will be my first DIY so bear with me please. My intent was to provide a feature that was not available on my/our car/cars. So let’s get to it! First I take no responsibility for any damage you or anyone may cause to their vehicle. Do this mod at your own risk. Don’t blame me! J I have no affiliation with WebElectric (WebElectric Products - Sequential Turn Signals, Sequential Taillights, Sequential Tail Lights, Dynamite Stick Sequential, Pulsing Brake Light Pulser Flasher, One Touch Convertible Top, Dynamite Stick, One Touch Turn Signals, Daytime Running Lights, L) other than I purchased the module (OTS-1M5 $40) from them. This mod was initially made for a 2005-2009 Ford Mustang but I saw that it could be used on our automobiles because of the way it is set up. I contacted the WebElectric and they helped me verify some of the wiring on their product. The WebElectric product adds a convenient One-Touch feature to your signals. When changing lanes or getting on/off freeway ramps, you just “touch” and release the signal lever. The signal will flash 6 times, then quit. The timing can be changed to a range of about 2 to 8 flashes. The lack of flash adjustment or only 3 flashes was an issue with some members on another Thread but this is resolved with WebElectric’s module and stock setup of 6 flashes is more than what some people use here in Texas. First, please disconnect your battery before you even start. I open both doors before disconnecting the battery so that the doors can be closed (windows go down a little) if needed. I made a wiring diagram so as to make it a little better in understanding how this is wired. If your wire codes (colors) are different don’t worry just use you’re MY wiring diagram. I decided to wire my module under the steering column access was a little easier than the Body Processor area and you don’t have to remove the steering wheel lower cover. So here goes: By the way it worked great! :-D

Gotta love it. At least you get a couple of flashes out of them.

This sounds like a really cool mod.

Very cool! I have this feature on my LR3, and it seems like such a little thing but its actually a very nice convenience to have on my commute. Never thought of adding it to my XK8 but I think its on the summer to-do list now.

Here in Chicago, its a miracle if people use them at all, whether its changing lanes or actually turning. Or sometimes, people hit the signal after they've already merged in front of you.. go figure...

Nice mod.

And by the way, I think the actual procedure here in North Dallas is to speed up, blink turn signal once (optional), pull in front of car in next lane and then hit your brakes.

Under no circumstances are you to look at the other car or make eye contact. Bonus points if you are on the phone during this maneuver.

Well I once forgot to turn off my turn signals and started doing the dreaded left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left for ever. So I decided to fix it. Hey the company has a lifetime warranty on the module as well :-). They offered to refund my money if the Mod didn't work. I modified my rear fogs to work with the brake lights (yes they still work as fogs) and I did the center brake light flasher mod. My worry is people will not see me, because our cars sit so low. :-)

I'd say that was actually understatement.... And for those who don't live in Dallas that are chuckling at the "humerous exaggeration" ... It's Not Exaggeration .. The only part you forgot is that if the driver is under 25 there is triple bonus if you're texting while posing for a self pic and have no clue what's in any adjacent lanes.. For full credit.. The eyes MUST be glued to the phone, and if this occurs on a highway/tollway they MUST ensure that they are less than 1 yard in distance from the rear bumper of the car in front of them.

Sounds like you all haven't dealt with the people who think that your oh-so-considerate signal for a lane change means that they're supposed to speed up and close off your gap. Love those guys. I make the lane change anyway and watch slam on the brakes and get all peed-off. So much fun. I may not subject Kitty to this amusement though!
