Interesting Modified 2000XKR on ebay
Looking for some parts on ebay, this afternoon, I saw this interestingly modified 2000 XKR. Front end looks like the 2010+, rear has the Arden tail lights. Looks like a lot of money was put into it, but the asking price will never be met.

I've heard good things about the work from Paragon.. I can't say all of the modifications are all to my personal liking, but at least they were done tastefully and I would presume with a high caliber of workmanship. I like the front clip better than the rear.
I would have done a black interior with some aluminum and carbon fiber.. similar to the XKR 175, with some red contrast stitching maybe.
But hey.. not my car so it doesn't really matter.. to each their own.
Anyway, definitely better than some of the modifications we see come across here (Reference the McDonald's car over on the 07-15 XK forum...)
I would agree, though, he'll never see $35k out of it..

This is a forum member's car...can't remeber who...and Tony (Paragon Design UK) just finished this car and shipped it back to the US sometime within the last few months.
Work is top notch, I'm sure, but the current owner will certainly take a bath on it...the new owner will be the beneficiary.

There's an understatement. For that kind of money you could have an Aston Martin. But I've been wrong before and it does have a very unique look. Work appears to be well done from the pictures, so who knows. Think about it as if you are paying for the upgrades and getting the car for free. That way it sounds like a bargain.
As someone said earlier, I would have done more with the interior while I was at it. The wood on the wheel looks out of place with all that carbon fiber.
And the trucking business must be doing well if a driver can afford $35k worth of upgrades to a $12k 14-year old car.

That's the problem with going too crazy spending big bucks on a car that typically sells for maybe 1/3 of what he is asking. There is quickly a point of diminishing returns when it comes to car mods. Doesn't matter if you intend on keeping and enjoying the car but don't expect to be able to get twice or three times the asking price for "typical" models.

Like the whole look except the tail lights. Make the rear look too bulky. The factory are larger and take away the bulk a bit better. But if he spent this ungodly amount of money, he should have had the XF tail lights fitted. It's the best option for that rear bumper.
And interior needs more black accents and the new VVIVID high gloss carbon viny wrap. The upper dash and door caps could be black (duplicolor vinyl spray. It works amazingly well on vinyl and plastic, not on leather.) and at least a black leather steering wheel.
New gloss vinyl.

Wait. He sent a $10k XKR abroad, sunk $35k into it, shipped it back, and is now unloading it instead of keeping it the rest of his life which may have financially justified it? And thinking he'll get twice what it's worth? I won't get into the taste factor- it's just not for me. But this man must work for the US government with that logic. What in the world.

Then he's had it for a few weeks or so and put 150 miles on it and wants to sell????
Strange!

I love my '01 blue cat and it already has most of the common issues worked out. Reliable daily driver for ~3 years now.
Don't really want to sell her, but for a fellow forum member I guess I could let it go for $30k. OK, maybe $29.5k if the gas tank is low when you come over.
That's a $5k savings over the modified car in this thread. Such a deal.
