Default interior difference between x100 & x150

I've searched on this website and i haven't really been able to find an answer. I'm around 6'3 and I have sat in a 2007 convertible XK, and I fit nicely, I'm a little snug but i have good headroom and decent legroom. I really would like a x100 XKR but, unfortunately, I don't have one around where i live to sit in.

So i was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the x100 was really that much smaller that the x150. Doesn't matter if coupe or convertible, and info helps.

Thank you all so much for your helping aiding me to buy my first Jaguar!

I am about 6'-2 1/2", so almost your size, and I have both a 2002XKR convertible and a 2010 XKR coupe. The seats in the 2010 probably go back on the track a bit further giving a slight bit more legroom, but I find my 2002 comfortable and not bad on leg room. The 2010's seats are much firmer, heavily bolstered, and much more adjustable as well as great for very spirited driving or for the track. They are, though, fairly difficult to exit from the car. The bolsters impede the exit, and you find yourself having to lift and catapult yourself out of the seat. The X100's seat bottoms are like a big flat pancake and bolstering non-existent, so ingress and egress are easier but not as supportive a seat as those found in the X150.

As for which car to get, I prefer the looks of the X100 and the power, handling and suspension of the 2010. I had to have both.

I too am 6'2 and 1/2 with an X100, no clearance problems at all.

Another guy here @ 6'-3' and 200 lbs. I fit nicely in the X100, for legroom, side room and headroom. However I don't like the view through the windscreen, I seem to have my vision mostly in the upper half of it. Seeing traffic lights overhead sometimes causes a problem for me, but having the roof down alleviates the problem most of the time. The X150 is a much better fit for me, but I still like my X100.

One thing to note that usually gets missed is the early one piece seats ('97-'00 in the US) are a little thinner and give a little more leg and head room. You can also modify the seat track to put it back a little farther. I'm 6'8" with most of my height in my legs, but I'm thin, which probably helps. I haven't move my seat farther on the tracks because, while the extra leg room would be nice, I have to have the seat reclined some for adequate head room and I'd be afraid that my steering wheel would be uncomfortably far away (I like it as close as possible)

At 6-foot-7 and 255 pounds with size 15 feet, I rarely drive my wife's XK8 more than 20 miles due to no legroom, kneeroom, headroom, shoulder room, or anywhere to put my feet. At 6-foot-3 you are probably at the upper limit of being able to drive this car comfortably for any distance, so I think you would be wise to find one and drive it for a hundred miles or so and see how it works for you. Don't make the mistake of buying one if you'll be miserable in it....

At 6'3" with Long Legs, I moved the seat back 1.5" by drilling new mounting holes in the Rear of the Lower Seat Track. Also made a Bracket for the Front:

This Bracket also Tilts the Front of the Seat up a little (XKs 1997-2000 don't have separate up-down front-rear adjustments).

Also, the X100 lets you recline the Seat Back PAST the Seat Belt Tensioner. The X150 WON"T allow this.

While not separate switches, the seats can be adjusted up-down & front-rear with switch A.

Correct, My statement should read XKs 1997-2000 have a Up-Down function and a Front-Rear function. The Seat Bottom can not be Tilted.

2001 and up XKs have a separate Up-Down function for the Front of the Seat and Up-Down function for the Rear of the Seat. Therefore, the Seat Bottom can be Tilted. Also a Front-Rear function.

Paul, while I have plenty of leg room I have been looking at doing the exact same thing to give me more room between my belly, no jokes please, and the steering wheel. Let's just say I'm a tad over weight and it all sits in my "beer" belly so even with the wheel all the way in I'd like a little more clearance.

My question is how did this mod work out with the seat back against the rear seat as my seats are dead against the rear seat already and I don't want a more vertical seating position on the back seat? I would think if I tracked the seat back further that the back of the seat would have to tilt more forward as it presses against the rear seat.

I guess that the 2003 Seats are thicker than the 2000 Seats. There is JUST enough room between my front and rear seats (with the seat back tilted back to the angle that I like) to move the seat back the 1.5" provided by my Mod.
