It's goodbye for now....
Sadly, I have just sold my 2003 XKR.
I've owned it for four years. Loved it to death.
Bought it for $20K, sold it for $15K. I'd say it held its value damn well.
I wanted to thank all of those, especially the technicians and mechanics
that came to my rescue over the years. Response time was always unbelievable, and the advice, in every case, was right on point.
I estimated that the Jag Forum saved me at least $2,000 over those four years.
I was blessed to find a Master Mechanic, that is a frequent contributor
to this forum, Bob Gauff, aka Motorcarman. I had to drive 50 miles to get
to his custom built shop on his sprawling ranch, but, it was worth every penny of gasoline. One of the nicest people that I've met during my time in Texas. Bob is a walking encyclopedia on every Jag model out there. I always hung out with him while he worked on my car. The shortcuts he had to speed up any repair were truly mind-blowing. Thank you, Bob, for your friendship and help. My checkbook also thanks you.
This truly is a marvelous forum, and a special brotherhood with an extraordinary cadre of professionals at its core.
I wish you all the best of life. and many miles of fun sitting behind the
wheel of your beautiful Jags..... Ed.
P.S. I shall return! Someday.

Ed,
Sorry to see you go. Never enough of us XK8/R owners in the DFW area.
I agree 100% on using Bob (motorcarman) in Decatur. He is indeed the ideal mechanic.
Good luck on your next car adventure (you didn't say what was next) and come back anytime to join the fun.
Mike

bummer on selling the XKR but wishing you the best. Indeed this is an excellent forum with many great folks actively engaged to make our ownership process a joy. You are always welcome here so don't be a stranger

No need to become a stranger here just because you don't have a Jaguar but I suspect you'll be back with another in the not too distant future!
Graham
