Default Jaguar, turning everyday people into everyday mechanics

FOr those that know me, you know my repair list is EXTENSIVE.

It seems like a weekly occurrence that i'm under the jag massaging her undercarriage from bad bushings, to plastic tensioners. From shock mounts to coil packs. I'm getting the impression that Jaguar engineers just hate people. They passive aggressively took out there rage by building these cars to torture the worlds shade tree mechanics.

So today I make it a block from the house and the car downshifts as i slow down and BANG..."oh no, that was loud...what now..." the car then stops shifting.. I put it into 2nd gear and it limps into a parking lot. I shut it off for a moment and put my face in my palms. I give a good long groan, thinking maybe the car will hear me and understand. I hop back in and head back home. she seems fine?? maybe she heard my cries. I come to a stop and she won't move. she revs but nothing. then she stalls. I get a nice little light on the dash to tell me what I already know. "transmission fault". Why thank you... I had no idea. I then turn her back on....nothing. One more try I say before I start pushing. she goes into gear and gets me back to the garage. The fault light went out BTW.

So i hear I sit pondering her fate.....

As my mechanic would tell me, and has told me; "Torch it and buy a real car."

Last time I heard a loud report from a powertrain (followed by a total loss of thrust), it was the spider gear coming apart in my '92 Mitsubishi 3000 GT's tranny. Not really relevant here, just brought back memories.

Squirrel,

Just think about what a wonderful car you are going to have when you get a new transmission in it.

Sigh, see that! I was working on a new avatar with "FIXED" in blue writing, and look what happened. I'm holding you personally responsible

And by that do you mean how nice and peaceful it will be after my wife kills me and buries me in the back yard due to the hole in my garage i keep pouring money into known as a jaguar?

HAHA! Have I told you have one hell of a well developed sense of humor lately!

Not to mention a fairly positive outlook on life.
Me, I need a drink....
