Often wonder if the power of the AJ-V8 would be better controlled through a manual gearbox.
I am not the only one and in the late 1990's there was a half way solution.
F1 Swtichshift gave the option of manual selection of the gears or fully auto.
Best of both worlds?

 

One of my many things to investigate was the possibility of doing something similar to this with the ZF 6 speed box. The 4.2l model x100s came with the same engine and ZF transmission as the early x150 model which had paddle shifters so I presume it may be fairly easy.

 

It was offered on the later 4.2Litre AJ32 with ZF 6 speed automatic gearbox but can't find anyone selling it anymore.
