Default Jaytan Industries - Rebuilt Throttle Bodies Ripoff

This firm does not guarantee their used parts. The website promises a 2 year full guarantee but it is worthless.

My brother bought a throttle body for his Jaguar XK8, which was defective. He returned it and was sent a second one, also defective. Finally he bought a new TB from a dealer and car was fixed.

After he returned both bad units to Jaytan they did not send his refund. He has written the firm but received no reply, and now they have blocked both of our numbers and refuse to speak with either of us. My brother has filed a complaint w/ CA secty of state, but when I went to the site listing CA firms, Jaytan's certificate is cited as 'suspended'.

Buyer beware bigtime!!!

Did they give you an RGA number for both units before sending back?

I hope that he bought them using a credit card. If he did, he can contact his credit card company to cancel the sale and return his money.

I have had to do this three or four times over the years due to various such problems. The last time was a company that kept sending me "completely refurbished wheels that must undergo a 40 point inspection".

They sent me one, and when I brought it to the shop for them to put the tire on, they spun it and you could see it wobble. They told me to keep it and sent me another one. Same thing when I took it to the shop. I had to get statements from the shop and so forth, but I just was not going to pay for such equipment. Eventually, the credit card company returned my money.

He is going to try to cancel sale w/ VISA. Jaytan is one of those companies that will simply ignore a customer with a complaint. They think they can just keep screwing their customers because they are still finding new customers who buy their products and so they keep on making money. It's almost like this is their business model.

He should file a dispute with the credit card issuer. If Jayton doesn't respond within a specific time period, he will get his money back.
( I was in the credit card business for 30 yrs)
