Default Joining the Fold!

Greetings! It took me awhile, but I finally have the XK8 I've been looking for. I've been Jaguar-less for two years (since I sold my XJ8) and it's been miserable! Granted I don't fit in the car too well but thanks to advice from a couple other tall members here I learned to slump in my seat a bit! We must make occasional sacrifices for Objects of Extreme Desire!

Wanted to find a low-mileage, dark-colored example with a light-colored interior (so I can spend less time vacuuming light-colored dog fur) and I specifically didn't want nav because I really like the instrument panel with the gauges This one is a 2006 VE with only 27K miles. The Atlas 19s are a bit 'loud' for my taste but I'll suffer through that--and they can always be switched out.

What I would love is to find clear lenses for the front side marker lights and signal repeaters. They're easy to find for Mercedes and other cars but I can't seem to locate them for the XK8. An amber bulb is fitted behind the clear lens so they look the same when lit and pass inspection (at least in my state). On a color like this I find the amber lenses a bit jarring. Advice welcome!

She's a cracker!
You can spend the time saved vacuuming on polishing now.

Do a quick search on the forum here and you'll find a few people have found/created/installed clear lenses like you're after.

I'm not trying to do LEDs or smoked or anything like that. Just want the amber gone. I think I'm gonna bother these guys next eBay My World - britishpartsplace

Hi,
Here is the e-mail address link for Chris, I think the info you have is his old hacked website (he closed it down), but none the less he has the clear lenses and clear repeators you want .
I ordered from him, but I bought the entire assembly not just the lenses and he has to order light assemblies from Jaguar and put his clear lenses on.
Took about three weeks, but he did what he said he would do. About 225.00 for 2 front, 2-rear and 2 repeators delivered. Hope this helps. Very nice car you have procured.

I bought a pair of clear lenses from XKZ barely a month ago through eBay. Have you tried contacting them directly?

This is who I am giving you the email address for.
This a direct email for Chris, he also sells Ebay, but this is direct to Chris. Direct means better prices.

Happy Motoring...

Your car is BEAUTIFUL!

Hang in there for a while with the wheels. I have a 2006 also, very dark (Pacific) blue with the exact same wheels. I felt the same as you but after a short while and a lot of complements I grew to like them. I don't think they ride quite as well as the ones on my '99.
I saw my '99 at the dealer by strange coincidence a couple of weeks ago and must admit the wheels looked a bit anemic.
