Default Knock Sensor and hose leak

Well, it looks like at least I will be able to solve two problems with one major operation. I have been getting the code that tells me my left bank knock sensor is in need of replacing. While looking around in that area I have spotted some coolant on the pan under the intake manifold indicating the famous, can't get to hose, is leaking. When I replaced all my other coolant hoses some time back I didn't replace that one. Shame on me. But now I get to also replace both knock sensors.
The only thing that bothers me is the throttle body. It looks like I can unbolt it from the intake manifold and can remove the manifold while leaving the throttle body in place with all its many hoses. Is that a reasonable assumption. Sounds too good to be true. I have read the message from Motor Car Man about removing the sensors leaving the manifold alone. But with the leak I will remove it the intake manifold.

Does anyone have any suggestions or comments before I order parts and get started. I always appreciate your input Guys and Galls.

The 4 bolts and a few harness connectors will get the throttle out of the way for access to the bolts on the side or the inlet 'elbow'.
There are only 2 small coolant lines on the throttle.

You also should renew the plastic 3 way connector (NNE3944BA), It's only a few dollars.
The heater hose with valves (octopus hose) on top of the bell housing might be an option also?

Thanks Bob for the info. Let me be sure I understand. You are saying that one cannot unbolt the throttle body from the back of the manifold and then unbolt the manifold and just lift it out. The throttle body must be removed first? Also what is the elbow you mentioned? I have been looking for a parts diagram of this area of the engine, but couldn't find one. Would you have such an easy to send a parts diagram.

Not sure this isn't going to get to be more than I can handle.

Thanks again for your help you always provide.

The throttle is bolted to an 'elbow' to change the airflow direction from vertical to horizontal. the 'elbow' is bolted to the back of the intake manifold.

The throttle is a large unit that blocks access to the 'elbow' fasteners to the plastic (resin) intake assy.

It only rakes a few minutes to remove the throttle and the 'elbow' can be left in place when the intake assy is removed.
