Thumbs up Leaking convertible lift cylinders replacement

Hi, just thought I'd write about the replacement of the hydraulic lift and latch cylinders and installing new hoses. Firstly after researching and searching the UK for replacement parts I decided to purchase refurbished cylinders and the higher rated hoses from a company in the U.S. (Top Hydraulics inc), as I just couldn't locate the cylinders especially the top latch one, anyway the cost was $1000 for the whole gambit with me sending my cylinders to them. The write up about these was very positive (thanks to all the members) and as my lift cylinders were leaking quite badly it was time to get on with the exchange. I can't praise Top Hydraulics enough, very friendly, helpful and informative, they get a 👍🏻 from me. Just to note that the original hoses all looked ok with no visible sign of leakage.

The task itself even though time consuming and lots of interior panels etc to remove this is a job that can be done by most car enthusiasts as long as you are methodical and store the parts carefully. I think that this has probably saved me in region of £2000 in garage fees!

So anybody with a similar issue and putting it off I recommend just bite the bullet and give it a go.

Cheers
Steve
