Am I likely to cause any problems by leaving the battery disconnected for a few weeks whilst doing work on the car? Thinking of car system problems because the battery is on a charger.

 

No harm. Some take the battery out for the winter.

 

I disconnected my battery while i was in Australia for 3 months, all that's needed on re-connect is re-teach the windows (conv), radio code & initial start drive cycle (approx 10miles) that covers the AC, ACC & Eng / Trans learn.

If you are working on the car, better to take the battery off until you are finished instead of repeated disconnecting/reconnecting.

I had my battery disconnected on my XJR for three weeks while I did my timing chain tensioners. No problems at all when I re-connected and started it up.
