I plan to replace the primary tensioners, and all chains on 2001 XK8. Also water pump. Can I use parts including gaskets for 2001 lincoln LS 3.9 motor?

 

I can personally attest to the fact that the upper tensioners and gasket set works. Can only assume that the primary stuff fits.

 

I went looking on titus ford and there is a break point for ls engines at 5/14/01, different part numbers and prices before and after. The front cover looks slightly different.

 

The early LS/Thunderbird came with the same plastic tensioners, and had the same failures as the Jaguar cars prior to the conversion to the metal versions in '01 . . . 3 months before Jaguar. The part numbers posted in numerous places on this forum were originally for the '02 LS.

 

both sets of chains, primary tensioners, ramps, gaskets after 5/14/01 are different than before 5/14/01 and have very different pricing
