BELOW THE WIPER COWL, REMOVE THE WIPERS AND COWL, LOOK DEAD CENTER BELOW ON THE FIREWALL.
YOU SEE AN EMPTY SPACE AND A COUPLE OF STUDS, THOSE ARE TO ATTACH THE FILTER BOX AND FILTER, CAUSE i HAVE NEVER SEEN A US CAR WITH 1 FITTEED FROM THE FACTORY. THEYRE INSTALLED BY CUSTOMERS OR CUSTOMER REQUEST

I spent 2 hours breaking down and putting back together my 06 XK8, trying to replace the pollen filter. It did not have one, but me and the car are alot closer now!

If you google the partno MJD6863AA of the filter, you will see plenty of sources. The housing has partno MJA6865AA (ps both are for LHD cars).

Do I need a filter on my 2002 XK8? I recently bought it... I think the ac doesn't smell too fresh. Just by a can of AC cleaner spray?

Is your XK8 a coupe or a convertible? The vast majority of the convertibles were not fitted with cabin air filter housings when they were built....

Welcome to the forum frazerriver,

As you've landed on an eight year old thread with this question, it should be an indication of the value of pollen filters on the XK8! Rarely fitted and often soaked with water owing to the location, they are useless. If your XK8 is fitted with a pollen filter, throwing it away will help freshen the air. If not, then an AC cleaner should do the trick.

Thank you very much I'll fill it out... Mine is a coupe. It does seem that here in Canada, same as US, there's likely not a filter but I'll take a look, I think I know where it's located, under the wipers.
Simon.

OK, someone on subject of X-308 cabin pollen/air filter posted link to

Your search - jaguar Tech Service Bulletin TSB 412-09 - did not match any image results.

But, I got "did not match any image results." as noted above.

Somewhere on the "net," I watched a You-tube video of an (04) Red XJR owner replace his Cabin Filter in about 5 mins (it was under glove box, (RH side), pulled down a soft panel, removed 2 plastic fasteners, and there it was). Now "consensus" seems to be that Cabin Filter(s) in X-308 ('97-03) is a "special (rare) order" item. That would explain why I get varied shapes/numbers Part# for "Jaguar XJR 2003 Cabin Air Filter. One post (above) gave Jag's TSB number to explain this, but...well, you can see search result.

Anyone have some sort of "definitive" solution to this apparent "mystery?"

THANKS in advance.
