Default Looking for a bit of XKR windscreen trim

Hi,

Just wondered if any members had a spare windscreen trim blank plate to fit my 2001 XKR?
I've attached a couple of photies - 1 of the blank plate I need and 1 of the hole where it should go.

Thanks

Steve

The comparable new blanks for our S-Type are rather inexpensive even at the dealerships here in the States (less than $2 each if I recall correctly). It's been a couple of years since I had to replace one, though....

How much do these XKR blanks go for at your local dealership?

Thanks chaps - to be honest I never even considered "buying new" as I thought they'd be no longer available - good to know though.
Don't suppose you know the correct name for the part? I'm sure it wont be listed as a windscreen trim blanking plate.

Yes, those caps are available, but I don't think they fit into the opening shown in your second photo. On my car, that opening is just that...an opening (although mostly hidden by the wiper arm). I've bought the caps, but to fill the other screw openings.

Does anyone on the forum here have any kind of cap that fills the rectangular screw opening shown in his second photo? I'm not sure those caps exist.

I believe there are only four required, The screw is exposed where the screen is.

I agree...and worse, mine has cracked and separated at that screw.

For anyone interested, the complete plastic piece along the base of the windshield is called the Plenum Cover or Cowl Cover. They are hard to come by, as Jaguar appears to no longer stock them. Gaudin Jag here in the US told me that the part number was superceded 11 times since 1997, with the latest part number being HJA3833AL.

When in doubt, refer to the Oracle (the Parts Catalogue):

Looking for a bit of XKR windscreen trim-xk8-grille.jpg

(click on the image to enlarge it)

This shows the Plenum Cover (item 10) should have 4 Finisher Caps (item 2) fitted.

I am missing the one on the grate. It appears different than the other ones.

Exactly right--the screws at that eggcrate area are exposed.

Thanks. In 17 years I never notice that.
