Default looking for a discontinued part

A dead truck tire carcass made a surprise contact with my "02 XKR undercarriage last night while I was on my way back home from a day trip to Dallas. I have to admit that coming over a rise in the road, and practically instantly see that massive tire tread disappear under the car, gave me an extra large shot of adrenaline.

Luck was mainly with me as I hit the tire section squarely between my wheels. If I'd hit it with one of my front wheels I'm fairly certain I would've lost control of the car. The main casualty was the large under tray ( HJE6484AB ) that attaches beneath the car and goes all the way across under the painted bumper . It was 80% ripped off. The under tray is available from SNG Barrett and others, so no problem there other than the $$$.

But I also lost the lower alternator cooling duct. ( HJA4477AC ), which appears to made out of un-obainium. An evenings internet search has me coming up blank. Anyone have suggestions of a parts source for such a part. Sooner or later Santa Claus is going to put a parts car in my Christmas stocking, but I think it's going to be a few Christmas's later....

that lower scoop is not needed; only the upper U-shaped one does anything. many have lost theirs over the years to oil changes and other events. consider now that your oil filter changes are easier.

I sourced some parts for a customer (2003 XKR) that hit a 'highway alligator' and lost all the parts you describe. Salvage yards might have some 'intact' parts but many are damaged or missing.

Where I live there is a clear distinction between tire tread and alligators on the highway. Neither are much fun to hit.

I once had a tire tread get tossed in front of me while riding my 1976 H2. That was an adventure.

Glad there was not serious damage Z.

Zray,
I found this Recycler, when I was looking for a Headlight washer...I was amazed and continue to go back and look just for fun....They're up North somewhere, apparently where all the XK8 & R's go to be totaled,,,...never seen so many XKR's that have been in Head-on Collisions…. .They have it all and I'm sure they have of will have the pat you want. They give you Stock Numbers Year, Mileage, VIN, Number of Parts for each Jag..& Photos.......

Good Luck hunting!

Thanks for the tip.

I know the part is not absolutely nexessary, but I like to improve a car under my ownership, not leave it in tatters. I'll be calling them tomorrow.
